For close to two decades, the Pronghorn boot has been a trusted cornerstone in the Danner hunt line. Any update to the Pronghorn comes with a lot of responsibility to our customers who rely on this iconic boot. As such, the fifth generation is the culmination of many years of Pronghorn history and today’s cutting-edge footwear technology. Built on our TERRA FORCE® NEXT™ platform, the Pronghorn delivers the all-day comfort and stability that make the day’s haul easier on your feet. Full-grain leather that’s passed our exacting quality tests forms the upper around our proven 851 last. To cope with unpredictable weather in the field, we built the Pronghorn with a GORE-TEX waterproof liner that keeps moisture out and lets your feet breathe. And for those headed out into cold climates, the Pronghorn is also available with PrimaLoft® insulation.

- This fifth generation outsole is extremely rugged and responds well in diverse terrain. It provides better grip and fits seamlessly into the Pronghorn’s streamlined, lower profile design.
- TERRA FORCE NEXT Platform
- The TERRA FORCE NEXT platform combines an internal and external shank system which helps to provide arch support and torsion control. The Vibram SPE midsole brings comfort and durability without added weight.
- How It Fits
- The 851 last is an update to our popular 850 last. This last fits true to size with an athletic and supportive fit while providing ample room in the toe. Offering a specific heel shape that locks the heel in place for better fit and comfort on the back end of the boot, this supportive fit is ideal for those needing high mileage performance from their gear.

Five Generations of Technology
Just because a boot was top of the line doesn’t guarantee it stays there. The drive to improve has to be constant. For the fifth generation of the Pronghorn, we applied the latest technology and premium components to ensure it continues to be the top of the line hunting boot you demand. For this generation, we upgraded to our new TERRA FORCE® NEXT™ platform with a series of proven components that work together to ensure support, comfort and responsiveness. A bi-fit board adds improved stability, while the Vibram® SPE midsole provides a combination of superior cushioning and durability. We then paired the midsole with a combined internal and external shank system that provides arch support and excellent torsion control. All told, 5 new layers of technology were combined for our most comfortable and supportive platform on the Pronghorn yet.

With the Pronghorn, we sought out the premier technology available to build a boot ready for any weather you might run into. Industry-leading experts at GORE-TEX provide the waterproof membrane to keep your feet dry from inside and out. Premium, oiled nubuck leather gives the boot a richer look and feel over previous generations. And when the forecast is frigid, we opted to offer PrimaLoft® insulation to bring the best weight-to-warmth ratios to the Pronghorn.
