Couldn't be happier with these boots. Quality is superb, and the fit is fantastic. I am a women's 11, and tend to have a narrower foot and these fit like a glove, except I have the perfect amount of wiggle room for my toes. Wore them around the house for about 5 hours the first day. The only mistake I made was that I did feel some rubbing on my left Achilles and I waited to long before taking them off and applying moleskin. After that I would put the moleskin where it rubbed and after a few days I didn't need the moleskin anymore. They are extremely comfortable, and believe it or not they don't look like big clod-hoppers, even in a size 11. If you have a wider foot I would go with the EE. Took an hour walk in the snow today and my feet were warm and dry.

I love these boots! I know that most people want them for hiking but I wanted them for fashion.... These boots look fantastic on!!! I thought they were going to end up being too "clunky" but they actually make your feet look small and cute. I pair mine with fluffy socks and skinny jeans. I've even wore them with dresses and tights and they look so good. Prepare to get so many compliments! On the size I'm pretty much always a solid 8 but after reading reviews I decided to size down and get the 7 1/2 and they are perfect even with thick socks. I have an average foot, not too wide or too narrow and the toe box is fine for me. No rubbing whatsoever. The ankle tilts in and rubs pretty bad when you walk so I doubled up socks for a little while but once they break in they are perfect. If you are on the fence about these then you should definitely take the plunge and get them. They are my favorite boots and I love them so much. Also Danners customer service is the best you'll ever receive. Thanks for making this boot!!!!

Beautiful shoe!

Comments about Mountain Light Cascade:

I'm writing in hopes of helping others with sizing. I am typically a size 7.5. Sometimes I wear a 7 but never an 8. I don't have wide feet or narrow feet - just average. The description suggested to size down by half, so I did that. The size 7 was much too small. They were too short and also narrow through the toe box. This was with wearing a lightweight hiking sock. Thank goodness for free returns. I'll be ordering the 7.5, as the shoes are really pleasant to look at and you can tell very high quality.

        Comments about Mountain Light Cascade:

I have traveled a lot wearing shoes that were NOT good for my feet, but that never bothered me until this past year. Getting older (ha! late 20's) my feet have finally started to catch up with me and I was about to leave for a trip to Iceland. I absolutely adored the look of these boots and after reading lots of reviews I decided I needed to get me a pair.

I am normally a size 7, and rarely wear any other size. Because these were backordered, and because of the reviews suggesting a half-size down, I purchased both the 6.5 as well as the 7 so I could properly try both. The 6.5 felt small in the toe area, but the 7 allowed significant slippage. I called Danner twice for advice (GREAT customer service!), and they suggested that both sizes sound fine but that heel slippage is the most common problem. So I took the plunge and kept the 6.5.

I wore them around the house for a couple weeks before taking off the tags for my trip, and let me tell ya... I honestly did not have ANY uncomfortable spots. These shoes took me all over Iceland, in the snow and the rain and to the top of a 700,000 year old volcano where I am sure I would have otherwise needed snow boots. I never needed to use my moleskin, these were incredibly comfortable and sturdy. Not to mention they are beautifully made and attractive. I am sure I will have these for a very long time, and the only thing I would change is where I live. Florida does not allow me to wear these as much as I would like!

          Comments about Mountain Light Cascade:

I bought these for hiking. They are incredibly comfortable and light, and kept my feet dry on snowy and wet trails. They're beautifully made and just you can see the quality of construction. They're also a great-looking boot!

I'm normally a size 6 with a wide foot. I got these in 5.5 per the size recommendation and they fit perfectly, even with thicker wool socks. While breaking in, I did get some blisters at the backs of my heels and ankles but that happens with all my boots. Other than that, I can't stress enough how comfortable I find these boots!

          Comments about Mountain Light Cascade:

Very handsome boot- extremely comfortable. Great for hiking in the Oregon Coast range. Looking forward to hiking in S. California as well. Not too worried that they will be too hot. Flexible yet protective sole. The leather quality is fantastic. My feet are warm, dry, and comfortable. The are great boots. Pretty much I am distracted by their comfort when I wear them.
