Rock solid in unstable situations

Made in the USA, the Acadia features Danner’s famous stitchdown construction, providing a more stable platform underfoot and superior durability. This boot has a waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX lining and a combination upper of 1000 Denier nylon and full-grain leather. The Vibram Kletterlift outsole provides superior shock absorption and great traction on both wet and dry surfaces. Features 200G Thinsulate.

Full-Grain Leather & 1000 Denier Nylon Upper
Made from a combination of our premium full-grain leather and 1000 Denier nylon, this upper is extremely durable.
Full-Grain Polishable Leather Upper
Made from a smooth, full-grain leather, this strong and durable upper is completely polishable.
GORE-TEX® (GTX)
100% waterproof and breathable, GORE-TEX® liners ensure that no water gets in, while allowing sweat and moisture to get out.
200G Thinsulate Insulation
High-performance insulation that keeps you warm in the snow and rain without weighing you down.
Vibram® Kletterlift Outsole
Specifically designed for comfort and durability; the heel provides superb shock absorption and the rubber compound guarantees great traction and stability on both wet and dry surfaces.
Women's Sizing
This boot is available in men's and women's sizing, please ensure that you've selected the correct width for your needs.
Stitchdown Construction
Handcrafted to provide a wider platform, our legendary stitchdown construction offers increased stability underfoot. Many of our stitchdown boots can be recrafted.
How It Fits
The 650 last offers a sleek, slender profile with a more narrow fit. Boots on this last tend to fit those with a more narrow foot better than those with a wider foot. This ensures a snug fit for terrain and activities that demand support and stability. If you do have a wider foot, we recommend ordering an "EE" (wide) in this style.
Recraftable
Extend the life of your boot with our recrafting services. This boot is eligible for a number of services, including part replacement, leather care and restitching. See our Recrafting page.

I was extremely lucky in finding these boots. They where a used pair at Andy & Bax in Portland, OR. Sitting among a table full of cheap 1960's style Jungle Boots, I was able to buy these for a mere twenty dollars. Since I have three other pairs, I knew they would be a great steal just to see if what I had heard about this model was true. Even though they where beaten up, it still took a year before I needed the heel replaced. They are by far the most comfortable shoe I have ever footed, and I have a bad case of plantar fasciitis (aka fallen arches). No running, walking, basketball, or tennis shoe is as comfortable, and these are duty boots! All other shoes I was told to wear by my doctor still had some degree of pain and fatigue, but I can wear these every waking moment without pain at all. I actually run from place to place now where before I was wincing just walking. I have heard from some friends that Danner's didn't stay waterproof, but this is my third rainy season wearing them in Portland, Oregon. It rains nine months out of the year here, and I doubt a company from here would be able to make a boot that didn't stay dry. I have never had me feet wet from wearing Danner's, and I have lived in this city all thirty-six years of my life, and I have battled wet feet the whole time, except when wearing Danner's. Hands down, the best pair of footwear I have ever owned. I would pay two thousand dollars for a pair of these, since no price can be put on being pain-free while walking. A medical miracle, for twenty dollars. Well worth two-hundred and fifty.

During winter months I work in sub freezing temps 4 months out of the year, during my shift temps dip below 10 degrees. Durable, warm/dry footware is a must. I thought the Men's Acadia 200g boot would protect my feet from conditions.

Pros:
Made in USA.
Excellent traction, on snow, slush, mud, and other wet surfaces.
Good build quality.
Boots shine easy.
Fit true to size.

Cons:
Not water proof, period.
No arch support, makes feet feel very flat.
Heavy.
Expensive, due to origin.
Not breathable.

I purchased these boots directly from Danner. I was looking for a durable boot for use in winter conditions, being waterproof was a must. The fact these boots were manufactured in the USA was appealing too. The first week these boots worked well keeping my feet warm and dry. However, after approximatley two weeks of regular wear (10 hours a day, four times a week) they failed to keep my feet dry. My feet would become so wet in the toe and ball areas that I had to put them on the shelf and order another brand (no, the Danner boots were not damaged in any way causing failure). I don't know if Gortex was to blame or Danner. I do know the other brand boot (Bates® Waterproof and Non-Metallic GX-8 boot) I replaced the Danner with feature Gortex and have met my needs in keeping my feet dry.

I was lucky to have purchased these boots for half of the price advertised on this web site. Now Danner boots are shined and sit in my closet to be brought out on dry winter days or dress occassions only. Hope this information is of some value.

Comments about Danner Acadia 8" Black 200G:

never thought it was possible to become emotionally attached to a pair of boots. After two years of Urban police work the time had come to have my Acadias re-soled. After a miserable week in a non-Danner boot I felt like a kid at Christmas picking up my Danners. I had a smile on my face the whole ride home and an even bigger smile when I put them back on for duty. Once you have felt the American Made quality of a Danner nothing will ever feel right again. Thank You Danner!!! 5 Stars

Comments about Danner Acadia 8" Black 200G:

I purchased these boots in 1998 for the police academy, wore them on the streets for two years, and still use them around the farm. Not everyday anymore, but they are still going strong 14 years later!!! I'll never wear anything else at work. I ask for the Acadia's by name when getting new work boots. Danner, don't change a thing, keep up the great product!

Comments about Danner Acadia 8" Black 200G:

A little expensive, but well worth it, my first pair lasted 3 yrs of heavy use in the Marine Corps. Just picked up a new pair with 200g thinsulate, nicely broken in by day 2. If you maintain these boots(cleaning & polishing) these boots will last. I treat all my boots with mink oil (helps waterproof the leather) 2 times before I wear them, then weekly after that.

A speed lace system would be nice on the upper 5 lace holes

I bought my Danner Acadia boots in 1996. I am finally sending them in for a second rebuild (recrafting). Not bad for a pair of boots that are 17 yrs old. Danner...like no other.
