Octa Knit Fabric, developed by Teijin Frontier, is a unique 100% polyester fiber (58% of which is recycled) with a hollow, octopus-like cross-section featuring eight projections. It offers exceptional softness, breathability, and warmth for base- and mid-layer applications like the Danner UL Octa Pullover. The hollow core and gaps between the projections are designed to trap air, providing lightweight insulation and warmth without the bulk of materials like fleece or down. Additionally, the tighter knit of the face fabric makes it more durable and less likely to snag and tear.
Knit in Japan, Octa Knit Fabric offers one of the best insulation values per weight ratio, and meets bluesign® CRITERIA for supply chain environmental and safety standards.
