Tips for the Perfect Fit
- Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
- Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
- When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.

Comments about Danner Tektite Plain Toe GTX XCR Grey Work Boots:
My work keeps me on my feet for about 10 hours a day. I need a stable and comfortable boot that is waterproof. Over the years I have tried many boots from various companies, but have always come back to Danner.
I like everything about the boot, but I do have one concern. That is the sole. The sole has a shallow depth which looks like it may wear faster than other designs. I hope I'm wrong as this boot costs a fair amount and is not recraftable.
Comments about Danner Tektite Plain Toe GTX XCR Grey Work Boots:
I originally reviewed this boot as " Painful decision" . Now that I have more time in the shoe, I really enjoy this product. The boot took quite a while to break in, and it was painful, due to stiff uppers, but the end result is wonderful.
Pros
- Light and durable
Cons
- Hard to break in
Best Uses
- Outdoor work
Comments about Danner Tektite Plain Toe GTX XCR Grey Work Boots:
Have worn these boots for work in construction almost every day for five weeks. The upper at ankle is extremely stiff, and has given me blisters.
I have to wear two pairs of socks and not use the highest lacing holes in order to be somewhat comfortable. I really like the concept, love the foot bed, and support, to bad about the uppers buy lots of band aids.
Pros
- Looks great
- not for work
Cons
- sole too thin
Best Uses
- Casual Outdoor Look
Comments about Danner Tektite Plain Toe GTX XCR Grey Work Boots:
I bought a pair specifically for work. I like how they looked so much I bought 2 other pairs to wear around. having them for a couple months now they are not that great for work, the sole does not have sufficient traction for being on ladders, wet grass, and such. (I am a paint contractor). They are totally waterproof and are a great boot in every other way though, want to make that clear. I will more than likely try a different model (Danners) for work though.
