Quick Overview

Lightweight breathability from a boot that performs.
Details

Focus on the mission, your feet are covered.

With the same rough-out leather and rugged nylon that you expect from Danner, we built the Tanicus to be our lightest military boot that is theater ready. Featuring an added layer of cushioning in the midsole and a dampening heel cup, we used a polyurethane footbed to ensure that comfort won't break down over time. The breathable, moisture-wicking mesh liner keeps you cool in hot climates and the outsole's pentagonal lug pattern gives you stability in diverse terrain.

Rough Out Leather & 1000 Denier Nylon Upper
Our rough-out, full-grain leather upper is legendary for its durability. We pair it with 1000 Denier nylon for superior protection.
Mesh Lining
Lightweight and breathable for total foot comfort.
Lace Garage
Prevents loose laces from snagging or dragging. At the top of the boot's tongue is a stretch fabric pocket designed to tuck your lace ends into.
Danner Tanicus Outsole
Pentagonal lugs give maximum surface contact for grip in a variety of terrain.
Extended Sizes
To accommodate more people, we've made this boot in extended sizes. We recommend women select 1.5 to 2 full sizes down for correct fit.
How It Fits
The 851 last is an update to our popular 850 last. This last fits true to size with an athletic and supportive fit while providing ample room in the toe. Offering a specific heel shape that locks the heel in place for better fit and comfort on the back end of the boot, this supportive fit is ideal for those needing high mileage performance from their gear.

Comments about Tanicus 8" Sage Green Hot:

This is my third pair of Danner Boots (all are still in use as they don't wear out quickly). Danners are usually boots that require a break in period for me but these fit right out of the box. They are cool, light and agile. A true joy to wear all day with a heavy pack. They feel like athletic shoes but have all the support I need. I would recommend these boots to anyone who want something light, comfortable and agile for use during hot summer months. I have personally had good luck from all the Danner boots I bought and am not surprised that these boots went above and beyond. Danner is simply the best you can buy.

I love everything about these boots except for 1 thing, there should be speed lace hooks on the top 3 carriers.

My favorite Sage Green Boots!

By Mike

from JBPHH, HI

Pros

  • Great for office members, especially in Hawaii!
  • Lightweight, breathe well, forgiving instep

Cons

  • Shoelaces are a little too thick.
  • The nylon parts on the side are too shiny
  • Wish they were made in the US :(

Best Uses

  • Uniform wear

Comments about Tanicus 8" Sage Green Hot:

I wear these ever day to work (active duty), and these boots rival the Danner USAF 8" Sage boots that I wore for 2+ years (got them re-soled). They're extremely light and comfortable. They're also much better than the Rivots (Those boots were ok, but didn't wear as well in the long-run). Would definitely recommend these boots over anything the Xchange sells on base.

Nicely built boot.Lightweight yet still has good support.

Comments about Tanicus 8" Sage Green Hot:

These where bought for my daughter serving in Turkey. Size 8 Military issue woman size was replaced with a size 7 men in Danner. I originally ordered size 6 which fit but snug. After she sent me a measurement of her foot I made a guess to size 7. She was in between a 6 1/2 and 7. I matched the insole to her GI issue size 8 woman to the Danner size 7 men and it was identical. She said she loves them, so I am happy.

EE size width is not accurate compared to Tachyon's

By N/A

from Indiana

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • No Break-in

Cons

  • EE size width not accurate compared to Tachyon's

Best Uses

Comments about Tanicus 8" Sage Green Hot:

I purchased these boots after wearing the Tachyon's for a year. The Tanicus's seem more durable, but the width is not even close to the Tachyon's. Both were width EE, but the Tachyon's were much wider at the toe box. These Tanicus's are labled EE, but I think they are actually regular width.
