I wear these boots at the Lawn & Garden Center where I work. On average I walk ten miles a day on concrete, which is often wet and sloshy.

I have gone through many pair of different brands of boots, looking for perfection. Among the BEST things about the 16007s are the soles. They're as comfortable as anything I've used but far superior in "durability". The 16007s also fit well and provide a unique stability; ARE indeed waterproof. Bonus positives: The lacing hardware is superb, unlike some other un-named name-brand boots of similar cost that employ cheesy stamped sheet metal hardware. Not only did the later boots have the soles "flap off" within a month, the sharp edges of their lacing hardware chewed to shreds the cuffs of my new work pants in the same time span.

If I were to "add" anything to the design it would be a real "boot-strap" and a thicker, and/or "all leather" tongue; as I have an issue with how the lacing cuts my "vamp" area (is that the right word)? The ankle area on top where your foot pivots with your lower leg...

Very loose lacing here eliminates the pressure of the lacing across the thinness of the tongue here.

Everything else is perfect: styling, leather quality, fit, build, ample laces, etc.

All-in-all, Model 16007 rates at the _very top_ of the scale of an old man who has walked through many a pair o' boots.

Comments about Danner Workman GTX Plain Toe Work Boots:

I am on my third pair of the Workman GTX. Last two have lasted almost four years each. I am on my feet almost 60 hours a week at work, and these boots make it possible. Great traction on greasy and wet kitchen floors. No foot fatigue or back issues, good support. I have my Danners on from the time I leave my house until I return home. I wear them practically all the time, not just for work, overall a great constructed boot. I highly recommend them. The only negative thing is these boots ARE NOT MADE IN TH USA.

Comments about Danner Workman GTX Plain Toe Work Boots:

I was leery about buying these as I knew they were not made in Portland as my 8 year old Danner Explorers were. I thought they were quite pricey for imported boots compared to what I have found in the local discount shoe stores, but I had trust in the Danner name. All fears were set aside when I received these and they fit like gloves! Whether doing outside landscaping, snow removal or inside construction, these boots do the job. They are comfortable and protective. Love 'em!

Why mess with a great thing. The old style was perfect the new one not so much. The lacing change gaps open an doesn't snug up as good.

Wish you would put the old style back out.
