Special Price: $277.50

USA Crafted

We didn't have to give them triple stitching. We didn't have to use leather-over-leather construction. We didn't have to completely overbuild them. But we did. That's what makes these boots worthy of the name Danner.

Made in the USA, the Super Rain Forest™ GTX® boot is a great all purpose workboot that gets the job done. Double thick leather provides for exceptional durability, and the GORE-TEX® lining provides breathable waterproof protection. Stitchdown construction guarantees a wider platform for greater stability and support underfoot and the lightweight non-metallic safety toe won’t conduct heat or cold to the foot.

Boot Details
  • Made in the USA
  • 100% waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX® liner is engineered to keep your feet dry and comfortable - even in extreme conditions
  • Black, full-grain leather is the strongest leather available on a Danner. This leather resists alkali, lime and anything else you’d rather not get on your feet
  • Double-thick leather covers the toe box and top of the foot for added protection
  • Triple-stitching with hyper-strong thread ensures long term durability
  • Danner's hand crafted stitchdown construction provides a wider platform for increased stability underfoot. This construction makes the boot recraftable in our Portland factory
  • Vibram® 132 Montagna outsole features lugs that are angled to provide substantial support whether ascending and descending. The center lugs combined with the unique Vibram® rubber compound provide maximum traction on wet and dry surfaces
  • Fiberglass shank
  • 8" height
  • 86 oz
  • Recraftable
  • The non-metallic safety toe won’t conduct heat or cold to the foot, and meets or exceeds ASTM standard F2413-11 I/75 C/75 EH. Electrical hazard (EH) footwear is manufactured with non-conductive electrical shock resistant soles and heels.
516S Last
The 516S is designed specifically for models that include a safety toe. It offers a sleek, slender profile with a toe area that can accommodate the safety toe cap. Boots on this last tend to fit those with a more narrow foot better than those with a wider foot. This ensures a snug fit for terrain and activities that demand support and stability. If you do have a wider foot, we recommend ordering an "EE" (wide) in this style.

Tips for the Perfect Fit

  • Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
  • Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
  • When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.

Free Return Shipping
Rest assured that if the boot you receive doesn’t fit correctly, we pay for return shipping back to us. You can order with confidence knowing return shipping is always on us.

Comments about Danner Super Rain Forest Non-Metallic Safety Toe Work Boots:

I work in a steel mill and i'm on my feet for 10-12 hours a day. I bought these boots after going through a pair of "quality" boots in less than a month. I'm into week two with these and still going strong. I love the way they are breaking in, it's like every day they mold better to my foot. I'll have to say there are no regrets in buying these boots. I would recommend them to anyone who works long hard days and needs a solid product to protect their feet. I figured I owed it to myself to protect my feet and make them happy. I also bought a pair of the regular insulated Rain Forest's and wear them when I get off work. They are just as comfortable as a pair of good running shoes, but I bought them for the cold winter months that are approaching.
Overall very happy with the purchase and the quality of Danner. I did buy a pair of the Quarry 3.0 and sent them back after I saw they were made in China. I would rather support my country and a unique craft which requires skill and attention to quality and detail than to support a foreign country and their ideals. I do understand the importance of outsourcing in this nation as a means though.

I work for a Oil field Services company dealing with mud, sand, water and chemicals for long shifts. I must also drive with these on, so far these are by far the best boots I have ever owned.

      Not for Winter Use

Comments about Danner Super Rain Forest Non-Metallic Safety Toe Work Boots:

These are well made high-quality boots, there is no doubt about that. However, the soles freeze hard like hockey pucks in temperatures under 30F. The frozen soles are very slippery, stiff, and dangerous to walk on. They have no grip in the snow and you will fall on the ice or when walking onto a smooth floor after coming in from outside. I liked that they were made in the USA, but there are better options out there.

Comments about Danner Super Rain Forest Non-Metallic Safety Toe Work Boots:

I bought these boots for work and have been completely satisfied. I have worn them five days a week for almost a year and they look almost as good as the day I bought them. The soles are still in great shape and so is the leather. These definitely are not wear them out and buy another pair boots. Take care of them and they will take care of you.

        On the docks

Comments about Danner Super Rain Forest Non-Metallic Safety Toe Work Boots:

I have worn these four days a week for ten to twelve hours a day while working the Oakland docks for nearly two years now. The only obvious wear is on the toe where I catch it going up and down the gangway and on the out sole of the heal do to the pronation of my walk. I have done little maintenance on these other than treating the leather occasionally and wiping heavy grime off them with a wet cloth.
My only issue with these work boots is I ordered them in standard size as opposed to ordering them in EE width. This caused a longer break in time on the left boot as that foot is wider.
Like all work boots I have had they make it difficult to drive my car as the peddles are so close together but I have no issue driving my work truck as it is a manual and has more room.
I recommend these boots to everyone and get a voucher rather than order the Redwings from the company catalog so I can order other styles of Danners as these have not worn out.
