Overview

Our most popular work boot – now built in Portland, Ore. We’ve developed a new Vibram Quarry outsole and upgraded the midsole to a single, solid piece for increased longevity. We’ve also updated the collar liner to be instantly comfortable and re-engineered the placement of the triple-stitching to reduce wear and tear over time. Using our universal 610 last, the US-made Quarry has the same fit and feel as its predecessor.

How it Fits

The 610 is our most universal last and can be worn by all foot shapes and sizes. It provides a snug fit through the heel while allowing ample toe room for most versatile fit. This allows more support and side-to-side movement.

I work in mining in the Congo (DRC). I have always osught out lightweight comfortable boots with excellent cushioning and side zippers. After someone stole my existing boots I tried to get the same pair from a mate in Australia but it never eventuated so I had a look for some while visiting the US. I knew of Danner from my days in the Australian Defence Force so had a quick look at their site and tried a few pairs on in a shop in SF. After the SF shop never responded to some queries I decided to take a punt and ordered these online; apart from no zipper I couldn't be happier. The boot while a litle stiff due to the full grain leather, fits like a nice glove and having climbed over machines, rock dumps as well as through the bush I have not had a single issue with them. The stiffness has come out slightly but they're only new so presume this will improve. Yeah they do clump when walking on office floors but that's just great motivation to get back outside where they belong. The wet season is coming up so it will be good to see how they perform then! They look better than the photos make them look too!

When I got them I tried them on and I can tell they will need alot to break them in. Very durable construction. However the toe box on one of them is too tight for my foot so I have emailed customer service for assistance and still heard nothing back.

Tough, comfortable work boot

By Jeff in the NW

from Western Oregon

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Sturdy
  • Tough
  • Well Made

Cons

  • none

Best Uses

  • Heavy equipment
  • Quarry
  • Woodcutting

I got the 6" Quarry with alloy toe for working with landscape rock and cutting firewood. Super sturdy and comfortable right out of the box. Even after two years of hard use they still look great. Feet stay dry in snow, mud, rain, puddles. These are not lightweight. They are made with thick leather amd give excellent protection and support.
