Danner Combat Hiker Military Boots

When the US Army wanted a tough, American-made hiker, one that was light where it needed to be but heavy-duty where it counts, it turned to Danner. This boot is perfect for mountainous environments such as Afghanistan, where sharp rocks and scree abound. The tough full-grain leather and Cordura upper protect against abrasions and tears, and a full perimeter rubber rand adds an additional layer of protection. The aggressively lugged Vibram® Bifida outsole provides superior traction across a wide range of terrain. The GORE-TEX® lining means it’s both 100% waterproof and breathable. The boot is also fully compatible with Army-issue snow shoes. No matter what the terrain or weather, the Danner Combat Hiker is ready to go.

100% waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX® liner is engineered to keep your feet dry, comfortable and never sweaty even in extreme conditions. The microporous structure of the GORE-TEX® makes the boot completely waterproof. Each microscopic pore is 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, which means no external moisture or water can penetrate the membrane. The pores are also 700 times bigger than a water vapor molecule, so perspiration can easily evaporate through and you can stay dry from the inside out.

610 Last
All of our made in the USA boots are built on the 610 last. This is our most universal last and can be worn by all foot shapes and sizes. The 610 last offers more support and side-to-side movement with our stitchdown construction. We use the 610 last on our Portland-made military boots due the wide range of fit needs in the military.

Width
This boot is available in men’s widths: "B" (narrow, "D" (regular), "EE" (wide) , and "4E" (extra-wide); and women’s widths: "M" (medium) and "W" (wide). Use the printable measuring tool below if you are unsure which width to select.

Tips for the Perfect Fit

• Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
• Consider the type of socks you\'ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
• When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they\'re the right fit.
