Comments about Danner Striker Torrent GTX Side Zip Uniform Boots:

"This definitely is a very comfortable boot. However the only downfall would be the the speed lace loops. I love the spped loops concept but the first loop pushes down on my ankle and hurts quite a bit. After breaking them in a bit, the pain has subsided some. I will see how they feel in the next two weeks or so."

Fantastic Boot

By Mike

Comments about Danner Striker Torrent GTX Side Zip Uniform Boots:

I'm an EMT so I'm fairly active during my 12 hour shifts. I've had these boots for over a year now and they are still amazingly comfortable. Very little in the wear and tear department: nothing a little show polish doesn't fix.

When I first got them I was concerned that they were a little too snug to be worn with thicker socks (cold winters and all), but after they were fully broken in, that was no longer an issue. If I ever need to buy a new pair of boots again, these will be the first thing I look at.

Comments about Danner Striker Torrent GTX Side Zip Uniform Boots:

I wear these boots as staion boots and for driving. I wore them for less than 6 shifts. At first I was very pleased with these boots. But after just a few uses the stitching that holds on the side-zip zipper came undone and the zipper seperated from the side of the boot. This is the third time I have had an issue with a Danner zipper product. The first two times were with the lace in zipper kits for my Acadias, third time was the charm...so far.

The finest quality and lightweight boots I have ever purchased. The overall quality and comfort exceed that of any duty boots I have ever purchased...and I have bought them all in the search of quality and comfort.

I will purchase only Danner's for the remainder of my Law Enforcement Career!

Comments about Danner Striker Torrent GTX Side Zip Uniform Boots:

Uses: Law Enforcement (Metro Police), Training, Range Use.

Background: LEO, Private Security, Corrections, Executive Protection, Instructor.

I use these boots for training and for shift work. There was a short break in period - as with most high quality boots - of about a week. The light weight design works well over extended shifts where I have to work through the end of my shift. Very comfortable and well built. The Vibram soles pay dividends on shifts I don't get to sit down.

Most people I have recommended them to for my uses have loved them. For those who need them for casual use these might be the wrong choice. I haven't seen any of my fellow officers dislike them or have them fail. The lay person or casual wearers I know found them inappropriate for their uses. I would still recommend Danner as a brand but a more appropriate product in their line up.

I also have used them for security details where we can't stick out like sore thumbs. Some comfortable pants and a Colts hat and I look like most guys at the football game. I don't, however, believe in a "one boot to rule them all", but between these and my pair of Danner Quarry boots for yard work and camping I am covered!

Just my unbiased and honest opinion.
