There are few boots that I can say that are darn near perfect. These are one of them. These boots are some of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. After a 10 hour plus shift in hot weather these boots are still comfortable and do not feel heavy or like my feet are on fire.

The Vibram sole gives excellent traction over a wide range of surfaces. Even in wet conditions I have never felt like I was about to slip. The rear of the sole with the rounded heal helps with driving. The comfort of the boot is great and having run in them it was truly like having running shoes on.

The boots are easy to get on and off and allow for a generous opening with the laces to don the boots. Lacing the boots easy with the speed lacing and you can provide great ankle support. These boots have in fact, given some of the best ankle support I have ever had in a boot. That being said the lace garage on these boots I find hard to use. In fact I have never used the lace garage due to the lace garage being difficult to tuck the laces into. It almost seems the tongue of the boots needs to be one inch higher for the lace garage. That being said I just tuck the ends of the laces into the top of the boot as I always have.

Overall these are great pair of boots. Vibram soles, Goretex liner and Danner quality have made these a pleasure to use.

I have been using Danner boots for 15 years. I started with a pair of the trooper II's. I needed a boot that was rugged and durable and most of all waterproof. I found exactly what I needed and then some with Danner. I found their boots to be very durable and very comfortable. So for 15 years the only boots I put on are Danner. About a year ago I bought a pair of the Striker Torrent GTX 8 inch boots and even bought another pair a few months ago. A couple of days ago was the first time these boots were actually submerged in ankle high water. I was very surprised to then feel my right foot was wet and that the boot had a leak. Like I said these boots are a year old but still look as good as new and certainly have not taken any damage of any kind that could compromise the boots. I felt like an idiot for not ever testing the boots before to make sure they are waterproof. It was blind faith I guess. So then obviously I decide to check the new pair I recently bought and had not yet used. I submerged the outside of the boots in water to make sure they were waterproof. At first everything seemed fine. I had my hand in the boot while it was submerged and did not feel any moisture initially but just a short while after the inside of the boots were slightly damp. It appears that the boots are not entirely waterproof and that moisture can penetrate slowly into the inside of the boots. I found this hard to believe so I waited until the boots were completely dry again and then I submerged the outside of the boots in water for about 10 seconds. Shortly there after again the inside of the boots were damp. I am very surprised but here I am with two seperate pair of the Striker Torrent boots and both are not waterproof at all. It is like my best friend just died. I dont know what to do really. I fear that these boots are not made any longer to the high standards and of the quality they used to be.

Great Boot

Comments about Danner Striker Torrent GTX Uniform Boots:

I have owned these boots for over two years now and have no complaints about their durability. The boots have held up for me beyond what I would expect. The boot is still comfortable to wear, you can run in them with no problem, and with the 8 inch height you get great ankle support. If I had to say one bad thing about the boots is that the shine is hard to maintain and the only reason I am buying a new pair is because the leather on the inside of the toe has, like a road rash or some sort of fraying.

Comments about Danner Striker Torrent GTX Uniform Boots:

I bought these boots back in October of 2012 and they are still looking good (minus a few scrapes). These boots have been through foot chases in riverbeds, jungles, sandy beaches, and back alleys. I'm always happy when my feet are dry while standing for several hours in the rain on an accident scene. I used to buy a new pair of Magnum boots every couple of months due to the sole coming unglued. Not a problem with these well made boots. I highly recommend this boot to fellow Police Officers.

Comments about Danner Striker Torrent GTX Uniform Boots:

I've had this product for a week and I'm already planning on buying another pair to alternate. They run about a half size small, but are perfect in the next half size up. The speed laces are a big step up from the eyelets on the original striker and seem to negate the problem with the eyelets coming out. Other than extreme cold, these boots will do the trick for just about any activity. If the shoe fits, wear it!!
