The Instigator™ combines athletic performance with traditional Danner toughness. The full-grain leather upper offers comfort and rugged durability in various conditions. GORE-TEX® lining provides waterproof, breathable protection. The steel toe meets or exceeds ASTM standard F2413-05 I/75 C/75 EH and offers job site protection. Danner’s patented TERRA FORCE™ X support system with the Approach TFX™ outsole keeps the boot light and comfortable while providing outstanding traction.

This boot is built on our most popular last, the 850. Its sleek, low volume profile provides a close, supportive fit while providing ample room in the toe. This comfortable, supportive fit is ideal for those looking for a boot to wear on day hikes or for longer expeditions.

This boot is available "D" (regular) and "EE" (wide) widths.

Tips for the Perfect Fit
  • Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
  • Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
  • When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.
