I bought these boots at the beginning of the season and have hunted every weekend in these boots from sun up to sun down. They feel like im wearing a sneaker! I can sneak all the way upto my stand and cross through small creeks because of the gortex waterproof liner they put in. Best boots in my opinion. great for the money they will last me for seasons to come.

    Best boot out there!

I bought these boots to replace another pair of hunting boots. I was instantly blown away by the support and comfort these boots have over any other boot I've owned. They are unmatched when it comes to climbing rocky hills! I have bad ankles, so I was highly impressed with how the uppers are flexible, but do a great job preventing any roll over. I felt more stable in these boots over rough terrain, than any other shoes/boots I've ever owned. The tread pattern is really smart. You can tell Danner understands movement of the foot while hunting. They don't slip on wet rocks at all, and are really good with side to side motion as well. I wore them out the past several weeks in 28-36 degree temps and they stayed very comfortable when I was moving, but after about an hour sitting still in the tree stand in 28 degree temps my toes got a little cold (even with quality wool socks). It wasn't very bad by any means, it was just slightly uncomfortable until I got moving again. That said, I would rather my feet be slightly on the cold side than hot and sweaty in those type of conditions. I was able to stay out for 4-5 hour spans just fine. I wouldn't wear them in the summer, because they do get warm in more temperate climates, but all in all, I would still buy them all over again for fall and winter hunting. The stability, support, traction, and comfort are absolutely unmatched. I wish they had the same setup in a summer/hot boot, and other color options.

I picked up a pair of 400 gram insulated High Grounds at a sporting goods store, wore them a few times, and was so impressed I ordered two more pairs from Danner in uninsulated and 1000 gram. They are unbelievably comfortable right out of the box, are relatively light and have great support.

I hunt deer and turkeys around 60 days a year in some pretty steep terrain in Tennessee and Alabama, and have had dozens of boots over the last 30 years. Danners have always been top notch quality and these are no exception.

I do have two minor gripes. One is that the lower pair of the "speed lace" eyelets are very tight on the laces. I think this is what Danner calls their "Lock & Load" lacing system - it keeps the laces in the lower eyelets tight while you string up the rest of the speed laces. That's great, but you really have to yank on the laces to get them loose and this can be kind of a pain when trying to get the boots off after a long day (and with a sore back). Plus, if you ever have to replace the laces you'll have to be careful about the diameter or they may not fit in the eyelet. I'm thinking of using a screwdriver to see if I can pry them open a little.

The second thing is that the "gusset" fabric between the tongue and the boot doesn't go all the way to the top of the tongue. This means the boot is not waterproof all the way to the top, so as far as wading in water you really have a 6 inch boot instead of an 8 inch. Danner probably designed it this way to make the boot more comfortable without all that excess fabric between the tongue and the boot, but something to think about if you have to deal with a lot of water.

But hey, I can live with those things for boots that fit and feel like these. Do yourself a favor and try a pair.

Bought these for my upcoming Montana archery Elk hunt and figured I should get them broke in, so I started walking in them and now I even jog with them....so comfortable!

These boots are the best fitting most comfortable that I have ever had. They are excellent except for the lower laces. I have had these for 9 months and have used them probably 60 days total. I recently noticed that the top lower eyelets are tearing. These lower eyelets are made of fabric and are therefore guaranteed to break. It is just a matter of time... I will get them replaced or fixed under warranty but I am afraid I will be in the same place in 9 months. Customer service said that they have not upgraded the fabric eyelets to something more durable. These boots could probably last you a lifetime if not for the lower laces. I am quite surprised by the poor design choice and poor quality of the lower laces by Danner. Why produce a top notch boot and put cheap lower eyelets ? I am strongly considering purchasing/trading to the Pronghorn, it has traditional lower eyelets and therefore will last a long, long, time. Consequently, I must give a one star rating and not recommend these for anyone to purchase.
