Comments about Danner Pronghorn Heavy Weight Dark Brown Crew Socks:

I'm a mechanic. I wear these socks every night at work with leather boots in various weather conditions and temperatures ranging from 0° to 100°F. These socks are thin and don't wick the sweat away from my feet anywhere near as well as the older version of this sock did and they don't cushion my foot much at all. I bought seven pairs of these socks based on my experience with the older, thicker version that was 75% merino wool instead of 38%. This new version is made of so much synthetic material that it's like wearing a plastic bag on my feet. Moisture stays close to the foot while wearing this sock and the cold, clammy feeling is even worse in a waterproof boot. Nevertheless, these socks are constructed very well and they do fit nice with no bunching up or seam rubbing against the toe. After washing and drying they shrink up quite a bit but when you put them on they stretch back out to the size they should be. I sure wish I would have paid more attention to the change in materials because buying these "updated" socks was an expensive mistake but I'll keep them for summer/casual wear.

Comments about Danner Pronghorn Heavy Weight Dark Brown Crew Socks:

I purchased these socks to wear with my Danner hunting boots and have been extremely pleased with how well they work: good fit, great cushioning, wick well and stay up on the calf. I have gone back to buy another half dozen pairs as they are that good.
