610 Last
The 610 is our most universal last and can be worn by all foot shapes and sizes. It provides a snug fit through the heel while allowing ample toe room for most versatile fit. This allows more support and side-to-side movement.

Tips for the Perfect Fit

  • Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
  • Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
  • When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.

Free Return Shipping
Rest assured that if the boot you receive doesn’t fit correctly, we pay for return shipping back to us. You can order with confidence knowing return shipping is always on us.

Comments about Danner High Country GTX Hunting Boots:

I hunt some steep, rough, and heavily brushed terrain. You can see the wear on the leather upper after 2 months of weekend hunting. I can live with that.. wear is wear.. The big problem I have is that the upper seems to have filled up with sand, rocks and decomposed granite.. Somehow this stuff has gotten in between the leather upper and the inner liner.. Just about ruined my last hunt.. Heading down some steep terrain all that debris worked its way into the toe area and made it too painful to walk.. had to take the boots off and shift the debris to the back of the boot and head back to the truck.. thought I might have to cut open the upper dump the crud out.. I am a firm believer that your boots are one of the most important pieces of gear you have while in the back country.. I need them to preform and these failed me.. Check out the youtube video I posted showing the wear and hear debris inside when rotating the boot..

Comments about Danner High Country GTX Hunting Boots:

The Danner 610 last runs narrow. I am comfortable in 2E boots made on their 850 last. Unfortunately, the Big Horn is not offered in 4E (as is some of the military styles also in the 610 last). I tried sizing up big no improvement. Also, the tread crowns in the mid fore-foot so it felt unstable on smooth hard floors.

Two months to break in. Lugs on soles make you feel like walking on marbles when on flat solid surface. Spent 2 weeks elk hunting in CO these boots are NOT waterproof. Second day walking through wet grass and boots were soaked on inside.

Comments about Danner High Country GTX Hunting Boots:

Went Elk hunting in CO 2011, Took about two months in break in. Did not like the round lugs on sole, feels like walking on marbles when on a hard surface. Day 2 boots were soaked through. Bought these to replace old Proghorns. Made in China no good. Will be looking for boots made in USA from now on.

Comments about Danner High Country GTX Hunting Boots:

They are terrific boots, just too narrow and too short. I bought my regular boot size and these are less in both length and width. I had width stretched twice and length stretched once by a shoe repair place, but it barely helped. I have worn them for three years off-and-on and they don't loosen or "break in" further, which is good leather, but unfortunate for me. I finally had to give them away to someone with a smaller foot. They are associated with too many calluses and foot sores. I'll likely get another pair, only longer and wider this time.
