USA made and ready to perform in any hunt

The answer to a lightweight, cross-functional hunting boot that’s crafted in our Portland, Oregon, factory, our East Ridge is waterproof, durable and ready to take on a variety of rugged terrain. Significantly lighter than its-US made predecessors, the East Ridge features a rich, oiled nubuck leather upper and the lightweight, non-loading Vibram Hunter outsole.

Full-Grain Leather & 900 Denier Nylon Upper
Using highly abrasion-resistant 900 Denier nylon with our full-grain leather allows us to build an extremely durable upper.
GORE-TEX® (GTX)
100% waterproof and breathable, GORE-TEX® liners ensure that no water gets in, while allowing sweat and moisture to get out.
Vibram® Hunter Outsole
The lightweight, non-loading Vibram Hunter outsole features a unique tread pattern for superior traction.
Stitchdown Construction
Handcrafted to provide a wider platform, our legendary stitchdown construction offers increased stability underfoot. Many of our stitchdown boots can be recrafted.
How It Fits
The 851 last is an update to our popular 850 last. This last fits true to size with an athletic and supportive fit while providing ample room in the toe. Offering a specific heel shape that locks the heel in place for better fit and comfort on the back end of the boot, this supportive fit is ideal for those needing high mileage performance from their gear.

Made in USA with Imported Components

We source the best materials from around the world and utilize some construction work overseas before shipping partially assembled components to be finished in our Portland, Oregon factory. Once in our factory, the boot uppers are formed and the entire bottom of the boot is constructed by hand, giving us greater control over the finished product. This manufacturing process allows us to bring you a less expensive USA made boot without compromising the quality you expect from Danner.

Hard to beat for the price. All of the qualities of American-made Danners at an exceptional price. I've beat mine up on high-country trails, muddy bottoms and rocky outcroppings. Comfortable out of the box, lighter than expected, better water-resistance than expected. These boots will get you there and back, and you can redraft them when you wear out the soles.

The boots fit true to size they do require a great deal of breaking in,however, which means if you purchase a pair be prepared to do this prior to using them for hunting. They also are not suitable for use in areas in the southwest where there is a lot of prickly pear and other low lying thorny plants, as the thorns easily penetrate the cloth sides of the boot. This is not only painful but can destroy the water proofing when the thorn is removed. They are extremely well made, but be mindful of your hunting needs before buying. Except for these two issues I am satisfied. Western Oklahoma quail hunter. three and one-half stars.

Comments about East Ridge 8" Brown:

If you've been back and forth about what size you should get , just go with what size you where most of your other boots in. If you have 3 pairs of boots that are 9.5 and one pair that are 10 , go with the size 9.5. Plus the size tool that danner uses is really what size you are going to want to get...
Now on to the boots themselves.

The Danner East Ridge boots really are the best bang for your buck if you are looking for a great boot for outside, hunting, shooting, and what have you. But if you need a good boot for the work inviormet they do just fine on concrete. I have had my pair lilttle over 2 months now and I fall more and more in love with them each day I wear them. I would say the break in period takes about a week to 2 weeks tops. I also got to take them out in the woods for some squirrel huntig in below freezing weather and my feet stayed warm.

Bottom line I would say is they're a great boot for the money, danner makes the best boots I have ever owned.

Comments about East Ridge 8" Brown:

A bit rigid but did not take long to break them in. The cushioning polyurethane footbed is what I like the best about these boots. My feet becomes painful when walking/standing on hard, flat surfaces. The footbed eases the pain considerably. I wear these boots daily except to work.

not like my old upland hunters

So uncomfortable could not wear more then 3 times.
I had my old pair of Danner boots for over 20 years, having them re-soled and rebuilt several times. I thought these looked similar and would be as good. They fit well in the store, but as soon as I did a long day of walking, while training dogs, my heels were on fire. Tried them two more times with different sock combinations, still had large blisters on heals. What a waist of money.

Comments about East Ridge 8" Brown:

I normally wear a size 12 in boots, dress shoes, casual shoes, sneakers, etc. This boot's is undersized and had to be exchanged. A size 13 fit very well so be aware when ordering.

The exchange process was very simple. I bought the East Ridge 8" boot on sale. By the time I got my boots (Christmas gift) the sale had ended. I called and spoke with a Danner customer service rep who said they would honor the sale price without hesitation. All I had to do was place a note in the returned boots asking for a straight exchange.

The unique thing about these boots is the break-in period. I've owned Danner for 9 years and I'm familiar with the brand. Previous boots definitely had a period of time I had to break them in before they became truly comfortable to wear. These boots were completely different. Although powerfully built with solid construction and heave stitching, they were seemingly already broken in. I decided to wear them to my office for a day or two to see how they fit before heading out to the woods. I simply could not believe how well they felt. I wore them all day at work (500,000 sq ft single story warehouse) and did plenty of walking on both cement and carpet. Not a single problem.

Once I went out into the snow, they secured my feet in slippery and powdery snow. Although I have not been our in extreme weather, I was out for multiple hours around 20* and had no concern with feet getting cold. I have yet to treat the leather but feel confident they will repel water without a problem. The weight of these boots are surprisingly light, even with the soles that can be redrafted.

We also own a home in SW Arizona and feel very comfortable these boots will work well in the desert environment as well.

I am delighted with these boots and will continue being a Danner customer.
