This boot is built on our most popular last, the 850. This last fits true to size with an athletic and supportive fit while providing ample room in the toe. This comfortable, supportive fit is ideal for those needing high mileage performance from their gear.
Tips for the Perfect Fit
- Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
- Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
- When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.

Used these boots everyday during my nine months of combat duty in southern Afghanistan. Was a light infantry soldier attached to a Marine unit and did countless dismounted patrols with these boots. I will keep them until they fall apart, then I will put them in my footlocker as mementos.

Ref to the Desert TFX Rough Out GTX boot that you sent me, here is my evaluation:
I have worn the boot in training and actual Call Outs for our SWAT Team. Since it has only been winter since I received the boot – the boot with it’s’ 400 grams of Thinsulate has held up well. I was outside for 4 hours with the temperature in the teens and my feet were fine. Several other Call Outs I was already inside a house and my feet did not sweat either so another plus for the boots. On several occasions we used CS Gas to get someone out of a house and the boot did not hold the gas too long after the Call Out and the condition of the boot held up in rough terrain. So I highly recommend the boot for at least for what I used it for. Now a personal preference note – I do like the “hook’s” half way up the boot like I have in a pair of old Danner’s more so that the “speed lace” or the “eyelets”. Just my preference.

I'm a Soldier and need a good pair of boots. I just got thease, I had to return the first pair (they were EE's) but still very narow size. I ordered a full size larger than what I normally whear and they fit but still prety snug width wise. there an awsome boot but if you have wider than normal feet even with the EE size they will be very snug.
