Superior Boot

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Made in USA

  • Rugged

Cons

  • Fast Wearing Vibram

Best Uses

  • Every day
  • Rugged outdoors

Legendary Danner quality shines through on these Made in USA boots! I also own a pair of the "HOT" version of these boots as the summers in Phoenix get just a bit warm - so I have a pair for every day summer and every day winter.

No break in needed, comfortable right out of the box. Sturdy, stable - excellent multi purpose boot.

The Vibram sole with its comfort and flexibility comes with a price though - they shows signs of wear very quickly. This boot is not recraftable at the Portland factory - so time will tell just how long the Vibram sole lasts. A short sole life needs to be weighed against the Made in USA price.

Nice to see an American made boot

By Matt

from Napa Ca

Pros

  • American Made
  • Appears To Be Good Qualit
  • Sizing correct

Cons

  • Disappointed In Dannner
  • hard to pull on
  • Lining Appears Cheap
  • Missing Rear Boot Strap
  • Quality Control Poor

Have been wearing Danners for over 10 years. Bought a pair of Mojave TFX boots, same size but soles of boots were two different lengths, Mis marked? Used to be able to order my size of boot, slip them on and hit the trails. I am now on my third order for a pair of Danners, about ready to give up on this manufacture. What has happened to the Danner I used to buy from?

I purchased these in Louisiana before going to Afghanistan. Wow! While others sustained blisters and pain from a long ruck march the following day, I cruised along without incident. No break in required. Best boots ever. They still draw comments even after being worn daily for 15 months straight. I tell everyone about how good these boots are. The laces are showing their age and the soles are getting worn, but after nearly 2 years of wear now it is to be expected. Comfortable. The boots do not smell. How did Danner do that? I'm going to have them redone by Danner or I'm going to buy a new pair. Well worth the money.

These are the highest quality footwear I've ever owned. They fit perfectly out of the box and require no break-in at all, although they have become even more comfortable with wear. I've worn them all day, every day for several weeks and my feet are completely happy. As for those with complaints about these boots or with Danner, I can only assume those were simply flukes of some kind. For me, everything about Danner and these boots is stellar. My boots arrived in 3 days and they are perfect. The workmanship is impressive. As for the claim that they are "difficult to pull on", I have to assume that individual has either never owned 8" boots and/or is not loosening the laces enough. These boots glide on and off just fine when done correctly. Highly recommended.
