- Polyurethane footbeds are cushioned for all day comfort
- This non-marking Vibram 4014 Cristy outsole is made from blown rubber, a softer compound designed for extreme comfort
- Fiberglass shank
- 6" height
- 56 oz per pair
- Made in the USA with imported parts
- Steel safety toe meets or exceeds ASTM standard F2413-11 I/75 C/75 EH. Electrical hazard (EH) footwear is manufactured with non-conductive electrical shock resistant soles and heels.
The 516S is designed specifically for models that include a safety toe. It offers a sleek, slender profile with a toe area that can accommodate the safety toe cap. Boots on this last tend to fit those with a more narrow foot better than those with a wider foot. This ensures a snug fit for terrain and activities that demand support and stability. If you do have a wider foot, we recommend ordering an "EE" (wide) in this style.
Tips for the Perfect Fit
- Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
- Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
- When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.
Free Return Shipping

i bought these boots in the summer and at first i had to switch to a thinner insole because my toes were rubbing against the top.The leather bended right on the start of my big toe nail so i had to wear moleskin on my toes for 3 weeks while i broke in the boots to avoid blisters. the top of the boot at the the achilles heel also bit into my legs and i had to bend and stretch the leather with my hands to make it softer and non-gnawing it took about 3 months of constant wear at the museum where i study to break in the boots but they feel amazing now! they are molded to my feet as you described it but the break in period was for me the longest ive ever experienced. i love your craftmansship and i am certain that my next pair of boots will be danners as well

Owned these boots for 9 months and worn mostly on an industrial construction site for about 4 months. Uppers are fantastic and only get better with time! They do require a long break in though but well worth it. The sole is incredibly comfortable, just be warned that it is a soft sole. None of my job is paved and the gravel has worn the tread almost flat already. Steel toe works well too! Dropped a pallet on it and while it sadly took a chunk out of the leather my foot was fine. Great boot, especially for warm weather--leather breathes well. Function is phenomenal, but added bonus that they look good too.

After wearing these boots for about 8 months the lining on the inside of the heel got worn through and exposed a sharp edge that gave me a blister, i took them to a shoemaker that lined the heelcap with some durable and comfortable leather and now the boots are better than ever before. id Recommend that Danner added some more durable lining in the future though.
i can walk in them all day without getting tired feet. i also added some superfeet insoles that makes them super comfy
The pic shows the fix that the shoemaker did.

I am extremely pleased with these boots. I had to wear them at my house for a few days to break them in -new leather uppers are a bit stiff, and steel toe initially feels snug- but after just a few hours of use they finally break in. And they are NICE! They provide great support, my feet do not overheat, and the cushioning is fabulous. The rubber sole is soft and it may not last as long as other materials, but the trade off is comfort when you have to stand up for long hours in a manufacturing environment. I have bad knees, so the softer soles are incredible without sacrificing support. They cherry on the cake is that they look great, and are made here, in our USA! I had to initially swap them for a different size, but Danner made the exchange process so easy! They fit true to size. I initially went wide - I like a spacey toe box- but realized that the regular size boots fit perfectly. Highly recommended!
The craftsmanship is Danner all the way, I love their boots. Whatever meathead designed a steel toe work boot with this sole should be terminated. As long as you are an engineer that shows up to job sites and went from the classroom to the engineering office they might work. Or if you are a hipster that dons his lumberjack look for a night at the coffee bar reciting Jack Kerouac then they are for you. Or if you are the guy in an air conditioned factory on a robotic assembly line where you stand on a no stress pad and only walk on polished concrete then they may be for you. If you weigh over 145lbs climb on machinery, walk on rough concrete or actually work for a living these are not the boots for you. The leather is too soft and it Knicks in chunks if you go down on your knees. The soles oh my, I purchased the boots April 10th 2015 and this is now June 15th 2015 and the soles are nearly worn past the tread so they are already in need of being resoled. I wanted leather 6" boots for summer and then a warmer pair for winter as my job takes me all over the U.S., Mexico, Canada, "I've been everywhere man"... Great craftsmanship, very comfortable usless in the actual field. Different sole choices would have been nice.
