Now is the time to stop reading reviews, bite the bullet, and buy your first pair of Danner Santiam boots. If you must read one more read below to find out why...

I bought these boots 3 years ago last month, I have worn off all of the tread on the heals and balls of both boots. Needless to say I abused the heck out of these boots. I hunt 9 months out of the year for TV and this is by far the best boot I have ever owned. When I am not hunting I am scouting, an average scouting trip is just an early morning trip and lasts about half the day, in this time I will walk on average 8 miles in the Rockies. These boots outperform all others. I generally wear out a pair of hunting boots in less than 6 months, including other Danner's like the pronghorn. A joke from all my buddies is that they would gladly take my hunting hand-me-downs except my boots, because within months they are generally blown out.

I wear my boots all day everyday so comfort is a must. Anyone that has hunted with me can attest that I don't leave the woods until dark, no lunch breaks or stopping. The best part about this boot is, when I slip it back on the next morning my feet actually feel better, that is how comfortable they are, they will give you happy feet.

The waterproof ability of these boots is great too, if I took better care of mine and actually treated them once a year these may have lasted longer, but they finally started to leak this spring, with zero treatings or washings other than the spray of a hose since I bought them. I put them on a boot dryer every night too so the leather gets abused and dried out, but they still held up.

These are not the boot for sitting in below freezing temps, but for the mid temp range and covering a lot of ground these puppies are it. I also don't recommend for the heat of summer where the temp breaks 70 degrees but if you don't mind hot feet they are fine.

Traction is great even in real cold weather on rocks. They have a nice soft out sole which not only works great for traction in all terrain but it is also quite when walking on hard terrain such as rock, you don't get that solid thump that you get from most boots. I was skeptical when I saw the pattern on the boot but I must say that it outperformed all boots I had owned up to this point.

This is why I just bought my second pair, which is a statement in itself, I have never bought the exact same boot twice, as a matter of fact I generally return them with in a few months because they don't hold up to their end of the deal. The Danner Santiam will not let you down and is worth every last penny, you will not be disappointed. On top of that these bad boys are still made in the good ol' USA, very rare these days, it is shown in the quality too. I could keep going but I think I have made my point.

I bought these boots about 1.50 years ago for hunting. As I mentioned in the subject line, they're absolutely incredible! The fit and performance are second to none. The reason why I am writing this review right now is because I have them on my feet today, so naturally I've been thinking about them. I just cannot believe how awesome they are............seriously! I have no complaints about them whatsoever. I recently added a pair of Downunders third-party insoles into them, too, and the fit now is even more incredible! I put the original Danner insoles into a new pair of Danner Explorer boots, which I purchased a couple of weeks ago. They're awesome, also. I currently own two pair of Danner outdoor boots; the Santiam and now the Explorer. I'll never own anything again but Danner boots! Yes, they may be fairly expensive, but "amazing" tends to have a higher price tag. If they fit you, then do yourself a favor and try out a pair. You won't be sorry...

I USE THEM IN THE ROCKY MT ON VERY STEEP GROUND. THESE BOOTS ARE BUILT TOUGH & GIVE ME GREAT SUPPORT.

I wanted a pair of the best boots I could buy and found them with the Danner Santiam boots. I just received them today and after opening the box and trying the boots out - my expectations are completely exceeded. The design, engineering, quality of constriction, and overall value are exceptional ! The ONLY regret I have is that I wished I paid for express shipping so that I would have received them quicker ! These are without any doubt, THE BEST BOOTS AVAILABLE. So comfortable, no break-in is required..right out of the box, they feel "right".Congratulations to the entire Danner Team for producing such a fine product !
