Second time Danner Quarry owner. Bought at local work-wear store. Tried on Danner Quarry and other recommended well-made Brand X. Brand X felt solid, but stiff and clunky. The Danner, right out of the box, already felt broke-in with a perfect fit and support around my foot. A few days later I got the leather oiled up and now they're almost perfect (the padded scree collar is still a little stiff). Boots never pinched anywhere. I work maintenance on large airliners were the aircraft are stripped down to nothing but frames and skin. Excellent cushioned insoles help in the many hanger-miles walked each day on concrete. Steel shank and solid sole give support on ladders and walking narrow floor beams. Every inch of leather upper is uniform in smooth, perfect, tight-grain, flexible leather - no thin spots or odd-looking textures. Leather never bites even in hours of kneeling or other cramped positions. I work 10-12+ hour shifts and these boots are comfortable all day long. My feet usually stay warm on their own and these boots do not have any extra foam in the fore-foot and toe-box lining causing a temperature build-up and leading to overheated feet - extra foam isn't needed for protection from pinching when leather of this quality is used. These boots give the best quality, fit and comfort for a production-made boot that I've ever worn. Highly recommended.

I work as a construction electrician so I am inside and outside depending on the job. I decided to try these boots when I was working on a job that required a lot of walking 3+ miles a day and standing, all on concrete. Although these boots seemed very stiff at first I was surprised at how comfortable they were to wear all day. They quickly became my favorite boots and have lasted me more than two years. That's longer than any other boot I've had. (Note:I do use a boot drier at night) I am very happy with these boots and am looking at buying another pair.

This is by far the most comfortable boot I have ever owned. That comfort started right out of the box! No "break-in time" needed, it's that good. Amazing boot and company, thank you Danner.

I am a paramedic, and I bought these for work. These boots were a great fit and easy to wear right out of the box. I wear these for up to 16 hours at a time, traveling sometimes several miles on foot. Great in all conditions, ice, snow, mud, dry pavement. I receive comments all the time about how nice my boots look.

Overall I find these boots to be acceptable. It's important to note that my rating of 3 stars is by comparison of this boot against other danner boots, not by comparison to other brands. As far as Danner boots go I find it to be average. I didn't care for the original laces. I wear these to work on concrete floors for 8 hrs a day. I weigh 270 lbs. After replacing the insole with a more supportive insole, I find these to be comfortable. It took a good week to get them fully broken in. The picture of the outsole made me skeptical to purchase them, but in person, it's much better than the images lead on. I don't find it getting horribly cluttered and haven't had any traction or slip issues. I wear these for something cheaper to smack around and abuse all day at work without concern. They're acceptable and for my application I have no complaints. I've had them a month and a half and they're barely noticeably worn.
