Pronghorn 8" Brown All-Leather 200G

$200.00
|  Style 42291

Born of legends and crafted with the ruggedness of a pronghorn's husk, the speed and stability of its quickest pace, and the weightlessness of its moments in flight, the new Danner Pronghorn® is built to stand the test of time.

The Danner Pronghorn® series has been a favorite of hunters for years. We've introduced some key changes while keeping most elements of the classic design. The new Tech-Tuff toe and heel protect the leather and your feet from sharp rocks and other hazards on or off the trail. An improved lacing system and more aggressive outsole were engineered to keep you secure and agile over long distances.

Boot Details

850 Last
This boot is built on our most popular last, the 850. This last fits true to size with an athletic and supportive fit while providing ample room in the toe. This comfortable, supportive fit is ideal for those needing high mileage performance from their gear.

Tips for the Perfect Fit

  • Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
  • Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
  • When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.

Free Return Shipping
Rest assured that if the boot you receive doesn’t fit correctly, we pay for return shipping back to us. You can order with confidence knowing return shipping is always on us.

Comments about Danner Pronghorn GTX Brown All Leather 200G Hunting Boots:

On a recent bowhunt for elk, we got caught in a fairly heavy rain on the way back to the truck. Since my new pronghorn boots were finally starting to get comfortable after 2 weeks of break-in, I was starting to think that I maybe made an ok choice of boots. I was hoping the longer break-in period would be offset by a more durable boot, and I like the rubber on the toe and leather uppers. However, the boots are complete junk as far as handling rain. The boots had poor grip and my feet became wet far before the rain had even soaked through my under shirt. The only thing slightly waterproof on me was my water resistant pants. My legs were pretty dry when I reached the truck and eliminated the argument that the rain soaked in from the top of the boot. How in the world can they advertise these boots as waterproof?? I refuse to hunt with wet boots and will be sending them back after a fairly painful and difficult break-in period. Danner did not fix their problems of leaky boots and actually made them more uncomfortable. Better try again. Not impressed!!!

Comments about Danner Pronghorn GTX Brown All Leather 200G Hunting Boots:

27 years of military field experience. Yes I waterproofed them but the seams are not water proofed on the inside. Several members of my hunting party purchased these boots (pronghorns)because we have had great experience with the Fort Lewis Go Devils. All of us switched to our backup boots after the first rain because the temp dropped and the forest floor remained wet for several days. I would love to return these but I tossed my receipt.

Comments about Danner Pronghorn GTX Brown All Leather 200G Hunting Boots:

I purchased these boots and wore them 5 times in the mountains hiking. I was not rough on them, and the arch-support on the outsole came unglued. It's a shame to pay $200 plus dollars for a pair of boots and they come unglued. My advice to Danner is that these boots are comfortable and would be a better seller if the whole bottom was sewn on; not half sewn/ half glued. However, Danner is going to take care of the problem. They do need to fix the entire line of the Pronghorn Boots.

Comments about Danner Pronghorn GTX Brown All Leather 200G Hunting Boots:

I bought a pair of the pronghorns about 5 years ago and love them. The model I have is all leather, not a fan of the rubber toe they have now. Not really sure why these boots got such bad reviews, I really have no complaints and love them. Lived in Oregon for 2 years (very wet climate) and wore them almost everyday, they held up great. Moved to Las Vegas for a year (dry and hot climate) and they did great. I even put them through a 2-month stay on the porch in the 120-degree sun where the leather was damaged and I was able to bring them back to life. I'm Back in PA now (weather all over the place) 5 years later, still in great shape. The only thing I can say bad about these boots is that the soles cannot be replaced like other Danner styles. If they could I probably would continue wearing them. The next boot I will try are the Elk Ridge. They are probably a step up to the pronghorns.

Comments about Danner Pronghorn GTX Brown All Leather 200G Hunting Boots:

I have owned several pairs of Danner boots for work and play. Pronghorns fit like a glove, but they are absolutely terrible for keeping water out. Nothing is worse than hiking all day with water squishing between the toes on a cold wet day.

I wish I had bought a different pair.....
