I have owned a pair of these boots since 2000. I love how they clean up with a little polish and the fact that I can go anywhere and know my footing will be solid. I love the fact they can be re-soled, most other boots you have to toss because they cannot be re-soled. I have worn through 2 soles and the boot still holds up solid with great support. This is by far the best boot I have ever owned and will definatley look at buying more Danners when (or if) these ever wear out.

Have used this boot for 15 years, on the third sole. Boot is finally starting to lose its comfort. Have had no problems with this boot other then a squeak that started after about 7 years.

I've used these (since APR2001), & Ft Lewis and Acadia's. The other two stretched too much. The Sierra outsole should be replaced with reg Vibram lugs (kletterlift) and the "hardening" in cold temps is alleviated. Non-issue above freezing. The Patrol has been my most satisfying Danner to date. PS customer service has been excellent the one time I needed it (not for these Patrols)

I've used these boots for urban policing for about 7 years now and I am only now thinking of re-crafting. They have always been very comfortable even when I'm on my feet walking for an entire 10 hour shift. These are the only shoes I own that do not make my feet sore. Professionally, I can kick doors, get in foot pursuits, drudge through some of the nastiest places and these boots just ask for more. They just won't fail. So think about that, [$] orginally then another $100 dollars or so once or twice for recrafting and you only put out a maximum of $300-$500 bucks for boots over the course of a career. Considering some $100 boots fall apart in 6 months, that's a great deal. In my opinion the Patrols are serious "cop-proof" boots that are meant for nothing less than hard professional use. Danner is the only boot I will ever wear.

I am a deputy fire chief in the Metro-Boston area. I bought this boot because sometimes, as an incident commander, I may not always start off wearing bunker pants and boots in the early stages of an incident. These "patrol" boots give me the confidence to move about the exterior of the fire building, or other emergency incident scenes, knowing my feet will stay dry and protected. They are comfortable enough to wear around the station during a 24 hour shift as well. The only con I see is the tongue. If you have a high instep, these boots have to be pulled on rather than slipped into. I have worn these boots for 3 years and they still feel great and have plenty of miles left in them. You can polish them up and they continue to look great. As for the squeak, it does disappear after break-in.
