Tips for the Perfect Fit

  • Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
  • Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
  • When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.

Free Return Shipping
Rest assured that if the boot you receive doesn’t fit correctly, we pay for return shipping back to us. You can order with confidence knowing return shipping is always on us.

Comments about Danner Mountain Light Stark:

Danner boots fit great and look even better. When I was shopping for casual footwear I wanted the quality that only Danner could provide with the look of a mid 70's hiking boot. The Mountain Light is spot on.

The break in period was longer than expected at around 4 days. Once I showed these boots who was boss they wrapped around my feet and I was attached like a child to his blanket. They have quickly became my favorite. I do want to share that you will need to be sure to keep the tongue straight for the first couple days. It tends to move off to the side and if you train them from the get go you will not have any problems for the life of the boot.

I am very impressed with the amount of abuse I have put the boots through without seeing a noticeable change in the tone of the leather. It is still as vibrant as the day I took them out of the box. I was sure that the snow and rain would lighten the black up but they have maintained their rich dark look. It goes to show just how much attention to detail went into the design and construction of the Mountain Light.

These are the best most comfortable boots I have ever owned. Now I want them in a lighter colorway.

Comments about Danner Mountain Light Stark:

These are my absolute favorite shoes/boots I've had. After discovering Danner boots through work (security/law enforcement), I thought my feet should be that comfortable when I am not at work, too. I was not disappointed. Comfortable, daily-wearing, waterproof, and my feet don't sweat too much. They can be a bit slippy in snow and ice, but no worse than most other shoes, and lot better than others. I guess I have worn them almost daily for at least 6 months, but the soles have a little more wear than I expected. They are recraftable though...

Comments about Danner Mountain Light Stark:

Love the marriage of style and durability. A lot of other brands have style but are not durable. Also love that they're made in the US. Wish I would have thought to get Danners when I was in the Marines. Would made long days on my feet more bearable.

Comments about Danner Mountain Light Stark:

Bought these at my local Danner dealer yesterday and couldn't decide on what size to get. The site tells you to size down a half size, which I tried, but they felt a tad too small. I could feel my big toe rubbing up towards the front and they felt a bit narrow. Then I tried my normal size, which felt a tad too big! AAarrrggh!! The total area in the foot compartment felt loose. Thought about it and realized that if I'm going to be wearing them all day I probably don't want to be uncomfortable so I went with my actual size. I really can't tell you if you should listen to what they say. Luckily I was able to try them on at a store and not just order them online, size down a half size as suggested, and then be bummed on my feet hurting after wearing them all day. Everyone's feet are different, and everyone has their own way of wearing boots. My suggestion, try them on and get the one one that you FEEL is best. My personal opinion is that boots should have a bit of room in them being that they are meant for durability and if they are too tight you're going to wear your feet out. Now if only they made these in 8.75... ;)
