The Instigator™ combines athletic performance with traditional Danner toughness. The full-grain leather upper offers comfort and rugged durability in various conditions. GORE-TEX® lining provides waterproof, breathable protection. The steel toe meets or exceeds ASTM standard F2413-11 I/75 C/75 EH and offers job site protection. Danner’s patented TERRA FORCE™ X support system with the Approach TFX™ outsole keeps the boot light and comfortable while providing outstanding traction.

This boot is built on our most popular last, the 850. This last fits true to size with an athletic and supportive fit while providing ample room in the toe. This comfortable, supportive fit is ideal for those needing high mileage performance from their gear.
Tips for the Perfect Fit
- Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
- Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
- When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.

These boots are good all except for the sole. when the sole was brand new, it still slips and slides if pavement is wet. The sole wore flat within two months. Really dissatisfied with the quality of the sole.

I work in the oilfeilds 16 hrs a day and this boot has been fantastic except for 2 things: 1)After 5 months it has started getting wet inside. 2) The first week I had to replace the laces as they started unraveling.

These boots are like putting on a slipper, comfortable from the moment you put them on. Excellent water repellant, I used these boots all day in 2 feet of snow and did not have cold or wet feet. Even the steel toe didn't make my toes cold.
They are however very slippery, I work on smooth concrete floors and walking through water I need to be very careful, also when transitioning to a vinyl or ceramic floors. You really have to be careful on slippery surfaces. Otherwise I love the boots.
