Tips for the Perfect Fit

  • Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
  • Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
  • When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.

My old TFX Hunters finally gave up the ghost this summer while scouting for archery elk season early Sept. Wanted a new pair of lt.wt. boots and saw these on the website. Was leaning toward the low uninsulated pronghorn or pathfinder EE's which fit me well. The factory store didn't yet have the high ground in house, had to order a pair. Well a D width came in and I tried it on, not real tight so I fig'd the EE's would be perfect. Got the EE and its a nice snug secure fit right out of the box! This boot will not reguire a break in period, the new upper lock lacing is a nice feature. Hope to get out this wknd and put them to the test before start of season. These should be a "run and gun" boot.I think I bought the very first pair anywhere!

I went on a serious hunt for a good pair of boots this year and I found them in the High Grounds. Out of the box they were very comfortable and lightweight (unlike the full-leather Pronghorns I wore around for a while before returning them). I've only hunted four days so far but I stepped in every mud puddle and creek I came across and so far they're waterproof. I walk a lot and these fit my hunting style very well. If you carry a heavy pack, they do not provide much ankle support but that's not an issue for me. Coming in at the lower end of my price range was also an unexpected positive. I cant say enough good about them. They seem to be great quality, but time will tell…

Was not disappointed in this product. Hunted around and in Indian Heaven for the early Wa. archery season. Rain, dew, hot temps, stream crossings and general scrambling. The sole has a grippy micro texture that holds well to rocks and logs. Very comfortable. A one day break in; by day 2 they were old friends. I really like the upper lace lock feature. You can set the tension you desire and it holds.

I'm an avid deer & quail hunter. Wore out a pair of old model Pronghorn boots and was told at the Danner store in Portland that these were the replacement boots for Pronghorns. Boot a pair of mule deer hunt this Oct in Utah. Wore them around the house to break them in but after two days of hunting on relatively flat ground, my achilles tendon became so sore I could barely limp around. As soon as I took the boots off, the soreness waned and disappeared. Tried them again and same result. I'm sending them back and looking for a different boot.
