The 650 last offers a sleek, slender profile with a more narrow fit. Boots on this last tend to fit those with a more narrow foot better than those with a wider foot. This ensures a snug fit for terrain and activities that demand support and stability. If you do have a wider foot, we recommend ordering an "EE" (wide) in this style.
Tips for the Perfect Fit
- Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
- Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
- When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.
Free Return Shipping
Rest assured that if the boot you receive doesn’t fit correctly, we pay for return shipping back to us. You can order with confidence knowing return shipping is always on us.

Comments about Danner Grouse Hunting Boots:
Yes, you read that right. My boots were made and put into service in 1990. I have been hunting and working on the farm since that time. I hunt 50+ days a year in the Blue Ridge Mountains in very rugged terrain. I have replaced the strings 5 times and keep the leather well oiled and the seams waxed. You will NEVER EVER find a boot or shoe that could match this boot for ruggedness.

Comments about Danner Grouse Hunting Boots:
I bough a pair in 1998 and I'm still wearing them in bow season, small game season and deer season. As the name implies, these are truely Grouse Boots. I love the rounded lugs on the sole as I hunt the grouse woods (steep, uneaven and often rocky terrain). Grip on rocks and logs is excellent, much better than any other lug design I've worn. My boots felt like sneakers on my feet since day one. All day hunts, no problem. My feet feel fine at the end of the day ( I do use the included orthotic inserts). GoreTex keep my feet dry even in dew soaked meadows (finally starting to leak a little last season). No insulation, but socks like smartwool allow me to wear them except on those windy 0-10 degree days or while sitting all day below freezing. I was initially concerned with the price but I got over that after the first season. I have thrown away countless $100 bills on boots that fell apart in one or two years. Buy these boots and in ten years you will have saved $400-$500 over the replacement costs of lesser boots. These are the best boots you can buy if you hunt like I do.

Comments about Danner Grouse Hunting Boots:
I use these for work and they replaced a pair of Super Rain Forrest that had the stitching rip due to my neglect of not dressing them. I like the Cordora uppers better than all leather for coolness and more flexibility.
