Tips for the Perfect Fit

  • Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
  • Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
  • When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.

WELL NOT SO SURE?!

Comments about Danner Elk Ridge GTX 9" 600G Hunting Boots:

I rode over 125 miles round trip to buy a pair of boots to ensure that the pair of boot fit since this was my first pair. I was excited to buy a "real" pair of boots. I had owned other pairs that seemed to last a short time and weren't very comfortable. I got this pair and at first they felt okay and then i noticed a very uncomfortable feeling across the top of my feet, (metatarsal area) and right above the ankle. No big deal, a bottle of Lexol conditioner fixed it right up and within two to three day the discomfort left, except for the one above the ankle and to this day i still have to reach and grab the tongue of the boot and pull it to the side a little(After having for a month and a half and being worn over 25 times).I also skipped the small first hook over the ankle and went to the first speed lace and that seemed to help too. It appears that the material that joins the tongue to the shank of the boot is a little to long and their is too much material to fold over when tied up. I thought this was an uncomfort of breaking in but i was wrong. I only experienced it with the left boot but the right one feel good. I have noticed the soft sole offer a relief to my mild back pain. Had i have worn them around the house inside, i might have sent them back.THEY ALSO DONT SHED SNOW AND MUD. MUD CAKES UP EVERYTIME, just like all the other ones i have, but i am use to it.Just last night i hadto use a stick to clean the mud off. They also seem to be a little slick after being in the snow and stepping in on concrete or tile, etc. But overall they quality seems to be excellent and i am hoping to get a pair of the 8" Grouse boots. I would reccommend DANNER BOOTS to anyone, but maybe not this model.

Comments about Danner Elk Ridge GTX 9" 600G Hunting Boots:

The boots are waterproof up to the top. They are comfortable, I have wear them for 12 hrs./day on the 10 day trip, still love them. Perfect to keep your feet warm even after 6 hrs. wait for your hunt.
When under water, the outer leather get soak wet, your feet's are dry, but the boots get definitely more heavier, and you start to notice it, when you carry the extra weight with an animal on you back. In some occasion I found the boot slippery over trees or rocks with moss and lichen growth. Fine else ware, even aluminium boats.
I'm definitely happy with my purchase and I hope these will last for long time.

Excellent Work Boot

Comments about Danner Elk Ridge GTX 9" 600G Hunting Boots:

I work in Law Enforcement and have bought all the boots through the years that cater to my job. I tore through them within 6 months and had to buy new ones. Initially I thought the price for Danner was too high until I met someone who swore by them. I took the plunge and bought my first pair, which werer the 8-inch Acadia. I used these boots as my patrol boot. They were easy to polish and had a professional look. I was highly impressed with these boots because they have lasted 3 years. I then bought another pair and still have the first pair too. Now I am sending them in for recrafting. Being in patrol makes it rough on boots. Since I work in the unincorporated areas of the county I am subject to rough environments. I have been in water, ice, snow, mud, nasty houses, climbed fences, climbed walls, climbed through windows, and ran people down. I am not one that is idle when I work because I love what I do. I went to investigations and the dress is business casual. Needless to say I switched over to the brown boot for duty wear. They hold a good shine and look professional. I do not do as much in the field as I did in patrol, but ocassionally will do some of those things. I liked the brown boot so well I started wearing them hunting and fishing. After a weekend or a week long outing they clean up easy and are ready for duty when I return to work. I can honestly say I really love the fit of these boots. They have an excellent fit and keep your feet aligned, which translates to comfort when I am on my feet for long hours. Since I found out I can recraft them I can get a longer wear before I buy a new pair. I have since purchased a cammo pair to take care of the hunting and fishing. These boots are pricey and are well worth the money to me. Of course my grandmother always told me to spare no expense on a good pair of shoes to take care of your feet. Good luck!

What a great boot!!

Comments about Danner Elk Ridge GTX 9" 600G Hunting Boots:

I bought these boots when I lived up in MN due to the cold during deer hunting. These Danner boots are one of the best buys I ever have taken. I own other Danner boots, but these were just perfect for deer hunting. They are warm, good traction and I hardly had to break them in. I cannot say how happy I am with these boots. Danner, you really made a good boot in this one. Keep up the good work!! Maybe now I will have the courage to buy the Danner Canadians - I will see..
