Tips for the Perfect Fit
- Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
- Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
- When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.

Comments about Danner ICH Tan Military Boots:
My infantry unit was issued these boots for a combat tour in Afghanistan. We wore them on countless foot patrols through the mountains of Aghanistan over 9 month period. The first problem was that they are a narrow fit. We couldent wear the boots we were issued as the orders were put in for our boot sizes that was on our records. So it was first come first serve to get the boots in a wide, if not you were out of luck. Guys that wore them anyway payed the price with blisters and sore feet. They feel heavy and have a "boxy" feel to them. The break in period is forever. One of my guys that swore he loved them had blood stains soaking through the seams. And Infantry guys know how to take care of there feet. The rubber guard around the boot peeled away at the natural bend when the stiches wore out and that caused problems while on patrols. This was a the case on most all the boots. Some were worse than others. We also were issued the Army Combat hikers, same narrow fit but were a much better boot. Lighter, same problem with the stiches and sizes but a more nimble feel. I would recommend those boots over these anyday. [$]? No way. These boots are not worth that kind of money. Go with the brown combat hiker if your going to spend that kind of money. We abused these boots and if your going to put that kind of price tag on them and advertive as a combat hiker alot of unhappy customer will be the result. [...]Sorry to be so harsh.

Comments about Danner ICH Tan Military Boots:
I love to hike, but uneven rocky terrian agrivates my Plantar Fasciitis condition making it very dificut to go on multi day hikes. This boot has just the right amount of rigidity that it has me going on long hikes again. Plus I love that the boot is made right here in my home town of Portland OR. Made in the USA baby!
Thanks Danner!
Pros
- Made in USA
Cons
- Cotton laces
- Stiching
- Weight
Best Uses
- Garrison duty
Comments about Danner ICH Tan Military Boots:
I was issued these for Afghanistan (same battalion as username "Bear", different rifle company) and I expected them to be an improvement of the Combat Hiker that Danner also makes for the Army. I was wrong. The boots run very narrow and every guy in my company needed a wide size. The stitching that attaches the rand (rough material that runs between the sole and the leather upper) to the leather will not hold up to combat patrols in the long run and the boot literally pulls itself apart as you walk in them. The GORETEX liner will not allow your feet to breathe and everyone who wore these boots on deployment had issues with athlete's foot, trench foot, blisters, etc. The cotton laces fray on the eyelets and must be replaced - very hard to do when at a combat outpost of 100 infantrymen and AAFES is no where to be found. They are good enough for walking around post and other garrison duties but they ARE NOT a combat boot and they certaintly do not hold up in combat.
