DLE-01 Last
The DLE-01 last was designed to be an extension of the foot with superior forefoot and heel capture, stability and a more anatomical shape for comfort. The additional space in the toebox allows the foot to naturally react when bearing a heavy load or changing directions laterally in high intensity environments.
Tips for the Perfect Fit
- Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two.
- Consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear.
- When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.
Free Return Shipping
Rest assured that if the boot you receive doesn’t fit correctly, we pay for return shipping back to us. You can order with confidence knowing return shipping is always on us.

Comments about Danner Melee 3" Canteen Uniform Boots:
This is my first imported/disposable Danner. They are much better than I expected and if you don't count the looks, which are kind of Combat-Bootish, they are better than other lightweight hikers in the same price range that you'd buy in a mall or sporting goods store. In typical Danner form, you could jump in a chopper with an M-249 with these if you absolutely had to.
I have super wide feet and these could be a bit wider, but they're wide enough to be ok. They are not waterproof, but I did not want Gore-Tex: I wanted a Danner for hot weather.
Notes: laces are not real 550 cord, but still nice laces (looks like 550 cord could easily be used)
Lace grommets are real brass (I think), not the plastic junk in other similarly priced import boots
My stitchdown Danner size is 11.5 but I got these in a 12 and I'm glad I did. Recommend going + a half size.
Pros
- Wearable with shorts
Cons
- Tongues a bit thick
Best Uses
- Everyday use
Comments about Danner Melee 3" Canteen Uniform Boots:
Ive had these Danners for about two weeks and they're still breaking in. I needed something for Work that looked professional yet comfortable and im satisfied so far. I wouldnt hesitate to go hiking or worry about getting them dirty. the sole covering the toe and heel makes them simple to clean. I got them in an 11EE and the fit is perfect. Only downer..my little brother called them duck shoes? pff what does he know! No regrets here.
Pros
- Good Looking
- Love the lace pocket
- Sturdy platform
- Well built
Cons
- Heel Slips
- Sized very tight

Comments about Danner Melee 3" Canteen Uniform Boots:
This is a great boot, I love them but the fit is weird. I usually wear a 10.5D but I get 10.5EE in Danner boots because I like a really roomy fit. My Jackal GTX boots are loose and roomy in the front and snug in the heel which is perfect. These boots are extremely tight in the whole front, ball and toe area (even with super thin socks), and are built straight up at the the heel. The heel area is very loose and there is nothing to keep your heel from slipping up.
I've been wearing them all day every day for a week now and they've loosened up only very slightly but not enough. I may have to give up on them. I would definitely recommend them but only for people with very narrow feet.
By the way, The laces are about a mile too long but they've got these little stretch pockets on the tounges for stuffing your laces up into so it's not a problem.
I really do like these and I gave them 4 stars because I didn't want to under-rate them just because they don't fit my feet right. But then on the other hand they definitely do not fit like a normal Danner 10.5EE. Danner should probably probably get in touch with their quality control manager in Vietnam and have them look into it.
Pros
- Lite
Cons
- Not waterproof
- Runs Small
Best Uses
- Hiking
Comments about Danner Melee 3" Canteen Uniform Boots:
Tried a couple of different sizes on at the factory store. I liked the style and how light they are. Normally I wear a 12, but the regular 12 just wasn't going to work. It was too tight in the toe box and along the instep. The 12EE was OK with regular socks, but might have been too tight with a thicker boot sock. Also, with the wide there was quite a bit of slip in the heel. The sales guy was great, but he said it was made to "conform to the foot." I think that they just run a bit small. But that's just my preferences. Others may like a tighter fitting boot. I recommend people check it out for themselves.
The are also not waterproof. Which would have been OK for most of the things I was looking to use them for, but it was a nice to have. I went with the Zig Zag low because of the better fit for me.
Pros
- Durable
- Light
- SLIP RESISTANT
- Water Resistant
Cons
- Sole Cushions
Best Uses
- Casual
- Motorcycle
- Work
Comments about Danner Melee 3" Canteen Uniform Boots:
I work as an automotive tech, and I wear these shoes to work. They are great for lots of movement but can be uncomfortable when not moving ie; standing all day, but as long as I'm moving they're great! The reason as to why I gave them 4 out of 5 is because of the sole cushions. I couldn't seem to fit the cushions, I have bad bunions, so I opted for some dr. scholls. All in all this is a great boot but also works as a shoe.
