I tend to put a lot of mileage on my boots, so I wanted to buy a nice pair instead of the average Army-issued pair. I was excited to purchase a pair of Danners, but I have found that no matter what size I get the heel is always loose. Even if my toes are completely crushed in a small pair of these boots, my heel will STILL be sliding around and getting blisters. I'm not sure what the problem is, but if you have generally smaller heels do not buy this boot. If you have an average/larger heel, you should be fine. Other than this issue, the boot is high quality and feels good.

I wore these boots around garrison to break them in for a day or two then took them straight to an FTX for two weeks. Compared to the other pairs of Danners that I own they seemed a bit loose fitting which created some heel slipping. When my feet swelled up from walking all day they fit just right and were very comfortable. I expect quality from Danner, but they were cheaper and made in china which was reflected in the stitching coming out of the synthetic material after a few days. The laces and leather developed a very "fuzzy" appearance also that gives the boots a rather cheap look. The boots are still serviceable, but not like my more expensive Danners. If i were going to order another pair I would order a half size smaller than normal.

i bought them 2 years ago and norm i buy a pair a year.but havent since i got these.i work on a golf course and i am hard on boots from norm work,not to mention the chems i use so if they have lasted more than a yr there good.iv had a pair a yr for the last 5 yrs,iv had rockys,converse,wolverine you name it and iv broke it.these are dirty but are still as good a boot as they were the day i bought them act there better since there broke in and soft as cotton now.matter of fact i have gotten athlete's foot ever yr at lest once but i havent had it since iv had these boots,they realy let your feet breath.and on a golf course thats all you do is sweat all day and your feet get wet so ya it happens.if you work or play in the heat and need a good boot then you can not go wrong with these,do your self a favor and get a pair,for the money they cant be beat.....btw keep the vents clean,they mud up kinda ez.i keep a small pocket knife to clean them when it hapens ;)..carl stevens,webbville KY

I use these as all around duty boots and in the field. They are comfortable no matter what you're doing. The only time I don't use them is if it's raining very hard since this version doesn't have Gortex. As said before, the leather could stand to be on a bit higher quality, but still looks fine. The synthetic canvas does the same thing, but still looks fine. I haven't had any seams come loose, but like the military teaches you, I take a lighter to all my seam ends. I can wear them year round with only adding a winter sock for cold weather. You won't be disappointed with these boots.

I have never worn a Military boot as good as this. I agree that the heel is a bit large, however I tried a thicker pair of sox and that fixed the loose heel issue. I love these boots and would recommend them to anyone in the military. Also, they took a matter of a few hours to feel 100% worn in. Maybe one suggestion would be to make them in a light brown/khaki colour.
