I bought a pair of pronghorn "heavies" for my son, who is an avid rock and ice(yeesh!) climber. His opinion is "I can't imagine my feet being anymore comfortable"! So, I just ordered up 3 pair, and when the weather turns warm, we'll look at the lighter weights as well! I bought the first pair at an outdoor outfitter in Sheridan, WY, and I can tell you they were considerably more expensive than online here.

My husband is sooo happy to get these socks. They really stay up all day. He works heavy construction and says he has never had better socks. He really likes the softness and that they are TALL enough to stay up, unlike most socks that sag down around the ankle after a short time.

I use them under my firefighter structure boots and my snow boots. They provide added protection from heat and from cold when wearing those structure boots.
