Comments about Danner Hiker Mid Weight Crew Socks:

Just glad i only got one pair to test them out. I also previously purchased the Danner Siskiyou socks, and love those. These looked like a replacement pair and I am for the first time unsatisfied with these pair of socks. Bring back the perfect Danner Siskiyou. I have a pair years old that have been washed warm, cold and hot and have been dried by camp fire, drying machine on hot and air dried. They still are far better than these socks brand mew.

Comments about Danner Hiker Mid Weight Crew Socks:

Over the past 35 years, I have tried many of the best hiking and hunting socks, including SmartWool, J.B. Fields, WigWam, etc. Previously, my favorite mid-weight hiking sock was the Danner Siskiyou, which was a true mid-weight with adequate padding and high wool content. I bought a pair of these new "replacements" for myself and my girl friend. They fall far short of Siskiyou: too thin, too tight in places with the various panels, shrink too easily when only washed in cold with Woolite and hang dried. These should be classified as a LIGHT hiking sock. Danner hiking socks went from being the best medium weight socks I have to the worst I have in one fail swoop. I would buy some of the others, like the Pronghorn, but these are now showing "Merino-Acrylic blend" of 70%, when I require at least 70% Merino wool content necessary to prevent blisters, wick away moisture, and for a wide temperature comfort range (the synthetics can never equal wool). Danner needs to take their socks back where they were a couple of years back. If it's not broke, don't fix it!
