Obviously the cost could always be less however, you definitely get what you pay for with these boots. I have had these boots in everything from extremely wet conditions for many hours on end fishing in the rain, to the steep rocky black hills of South Dakota stocking and hunting deer, to the hard concrtet floor of a warehouse for 8 hours a day. Through all these conditions I have yet to be able to complain of a moisture or comfort issue in the slightest. Between the traction and the comfort offered in a danner boot, I beleive a new benchmark in the industry has been set. I am an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. For me, the only boots that have stacked up and surpassed my high demands and expectations, have had Danner branded on the sides of all 5 pairs, so will the 6th! I would highly reccomend to anyone asking...

i bought these boots last summer and didnt get to wear them very much over the winter but i have been wearing them ALL summer. I'm a field geologist so i hike 3 to 5 days a week, 10/12 a day hours just for work. the reason for my poor scoring on these boots is they take a long time to break in and now that i have them broke in the tread on the soles are almost completely gone (about 2.5 months of field work). these boots are comfortable but they really dont stand up well when it comes to extended amounts of hiking.

    Comments about 453 5.5" Tan/Grey:

Overall the boot itself seems to be okay, haven't had the chance to wear them for more than a few months total. I'm on my second pair of these and ONLY because of the lace hook at the top of the boot. This boot has a design flaw, in my opinion, that only allows this boot to use a narrow lace. The laces that I've had have wore apart in less than two months time. I tried using a heavier pair of laces but this caused the lace hook at the top to actually break. I will say that Danner replaced my previous pair with no issue! To that I give them praise for. However, I will say that if you purchase these boots be sure to purchase extra laces that fit them as well!

I can't truly say how the boots hold up as I've only had my second pair for a few months and have not wore them daily. While waiting for Danner to replace the first pair, I bought another, different manufacturers boot. These are comfortable to wear, I give them that. As well as good support. A bit difficult to get a snug fit from the laces, but that may get better after some wear-in.

I had really hoped that these would be better, being a Danner boot. Not as impressed as I thought I would be. Not good when a seemingly good quality boot gets a poor rating for something as simple as laces!
